When Toyota make changes to their venerable Landcruiser models, everyone sits up and takes notice. As an occasional four-wheel-driver, this model piqued my interest most amongst the 4 vehicles showcased at the brands’ Multi Pathways event.

First Drive of the 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport It's definitely a cool thing. Don’t expect it to be raw like a GR model, but it provides some added pep and driver enjoyment to a vehicle that would otherwise be a conveyance. It’s the perfect blend of form and function and might just be the family car of choice for GR enthusiasts out there.

In Volvo’s ES90 I find what I feel is perhaps the Car Guy’s Electric Vehicle. It’s beautiful outside, casting a low and wide visual that’s punctuated by that huge rolling stock combination. The interior is spacious and beautifully finished, with a truly delightful serenity regardless of external conditions.And it’s that level of serenity that means the lucky occupants can experience that incredible studio quality sound system at a standstill or on a roll.

If there was a recipe for Lexus’ LX500D Overtrail, it would start with a strong base-stock in the form of Toyota Landcruiser underpinnings. Plush and luxurious, its easy to forget about their inherent offroad prowess. A week on and off-road helped me uncover a very well balanced vehicle, with amazing capability across a broad spectrum of activity.
