What do you do when you're a growing international automotive brand and want to make a splash as you enter the world of motorsport? I reckon Genesis could write the playbook based on their latest announcement.

Less than 500 days after the Korean brand signalled their intention to enter endurance racing, Genesis Magma Racing have now confirmed their debute at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the 6 Hours of Imola.
Making the move at a track with the level of motorsport heritage that see's it named after Enzo Ferrari was surely no mistake. Rather, it promises to cement the brand's arrival into the historybooks.
The announcement follows a resolute testing schedule which has seen the team complete some 25,000 hours on-track testing in their GMR-001 Hypercar platform.
Developed in partnership with French motorsport group Oreca, the platform was designed by Genesis' European design house and is powered by a hybridised 3.2L twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 670 horsepower.
The team will field 2 cars and have taken a reserved goal to have both cars finish the race. A view reinforced by Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul who said the focus will be on "things we can control in our reliability and operations, making sure we can do the small things right first, before we can expect performance and race results."
It would seem that legacy manufacturers have some thinking to do, because between Genesis and Chery who has signalled intent to field a team at Le Mans, the heat isn't just on road anymore.
